my dell d610 laptop and windows 7

I'll be trying to upgrade the Os of my old dell laptop with the new Windows 7.I've read   a few nags about driver problems and hardware compatibility  considering the laptop is from a Windows XP era model but hopefully i'll be able to find fixes for this problems.Stay tuned..........
